April 23, 2026West Somerset Railway – 30 Years of Galas

โWest Somerset Railwayโ
– 30 Years of Galas As the railway celebrates its 50th year of operation in 2026, we look at the galas held at the 22-mile heritage line since their first steam one in 1996. There were four diesel galas prior to that but from 1996 steam reigned, with the first one dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the closure of the S&D. Some epic moments when one-off steam was used will also feature.
A diverse range of locomotives are shown right up to 2026 when the 50th anniversary was celebrated with A4 No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley as star locomotive. Some of the locomotives seen in this gala DVD include; 34039 Boscastle, 34105 Swanage, 44422, 73096, 7802 Bradley Manor, 53808, 7828 Odney Manor, 6024 King Edward Ist, 34067 Tangmere, 53809, 44422, 4160, 1450, 4936 Kinlet Hall, 6960 Raveningham Hall, 41312, 5553, 80136, 9351, 49395, 6100 Royal Scot, 34007 Wadebridge, 34072 257 Squadron, 3850, 6695, Caley Tank, 34046 Braunton and many, many more steam and heritage diesel locomotives. 90 minutes DVD ยฃ14.95 or USB stick ยฃ14.95
