Cab ride no 6 – Tonbridge Wells to Eridge

Riding aboard a Class 207 locomotive No 1310, this dvd, Cab Ride No.06, was recorded on the 24th June 1985.

Picture quality will therefore be slightly poorer than later cab rides, recorded on more modern equipment. This Cab Ride No. 6 in the Railscene range does, however, provide a unique record of the BR situation at the time. After departing from Tonbridge Wells we subsequently pass through Tonbridge Wells West Station and Groombridge Station before arriving finally at Eridge Station.

In this cab ride we also are lucky enough to enjoy shots inside both: Birchden Junction Signal Box and Grove Junction Signal Box including an explanation of the levers operating the signalling, showing the workings of these Signal Boxes. This cab ride also includes shots taken of the locomotive from the lineside as well as the view from the Cab.
