Reading to Bournemouth
This cab ride was filmed aboard a Virgin Cross-country Voyager service starting from Reading well before the complete modernisation an electrification of the area. We pass the maintenance depot at Reading West curve on the right before passing through Reading West Station. We then pass through Mortimer and Bramley before joining the Waterloo to Southampton line at Basingstoke where a stop is made. Our route now takes us through the famous Worting Junction and tunnels towards Micheldever and arrival at the Hampshire county city of Winchester. From here we travel towards the historic railway town of Eastleigh where the goods yards are
viewed before speeding through the station followed by the locomotive works and yards.
From this point we skirt the airport on our left-hand side and call at Southampton Airport Parkway Station. The remainder of the train journey takes us through Southampton itself and on through the New Forest area before passing through Christchurch for an arrival at the majestic station at Bournemouth.
Approximately 1 hour 20 minutes duration
