Cab Ride No 34 – Portsmouth to Eastleigh & Return

This dvd, Cab Ride No.34, was undertaken in the Spring of 1990 to record the last few weeks of operation of the venerable “Hampshire” DEMU’s on what are now the “Solent” electrified lines of Network South East.

At the time of our ride, 30th April 1990, most of the third rails were in position and the new station at Hedge  End was complete. All services were still in the hands of the DEMU’s, our unit being No. 205029.
