Part 1 –
ST. PANCRAS TO SHEFFIELD – Filmed from the cab of an HST this shows a main line in transition. Recorded in May 1986, the “old railway” is seen clearly with many semaphores still in use.
Part 2 –
LIVERPOOL STREET TO KING’S LYNN – This cab ride, recorded in March 1989 takes us from the suburban sprawl of East London through Essex to the Fens with plenty of semaphores at Ely.
Part 3 –
MEREHEAD TO THEALE – The cab view from a Foster Yeomans Class 59s over Great Westerns main line to the West of England. This cab ride includes scenes at Foster Yeomans base.
Part 4 –
GLASGOW TO CRIANLARICH – This Scottish cab ride travels over the first part of the unique West Highland system from Glasgow to Crianlarich.
